Motor City Regional FAQ
Is there a place to park my Corvette if I drive it to the event?
Yes. There will be a Corvette-only parking area at the Rock Financial Center where driven cars and Sportsman cars will park. In addition, there will be a Corvette parking area at the Doubletree Hotel.
Where is the trailer parking?
The trailer parking will be in an office lot next door to the hotel.
How far is it from the Doubletree Hotel to the Rock Financial Center?
Per Mapquest, 2.1 miles.
How can we go between the Doubletree Hotel and the Rock Financial Center?
There will be shuttle service available. So, you can have your car stay at the judging field and still be able to get back and forth.
Can I purchase food at the show?
Yes. There are concessions at the show where you can purchase snacks and lunch.
Are there any places to eat near the hotel?
There are many restaurants located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
Can I get a better rate at the Doubletree if I look online?
No. We have arranged the lowest possible rate with the Doubletree Hotel. They have guaranteed us that there is no better rate available.
What is the Lingenfelter Collection?
This is the private collection of one individual named Ken Lingenfelter. By special arrangement the Michigan Chapter has arranged for Motor City Regional participants to view this collection during a Wine and Cheese party on the evening of Friday, May 16th. Normally these cars are not available for public viewing at any time. This collection of over 150 cars contains some of the most expensive and exclusive cars ever available.
Currently we have Reeves Callaway scheduled to attend as our special guest and speaker. Other Corvette dignitaries are also slated to appear.
Ken is not affiliated with the late John Lingenfelter. They just happen to share a love of great cars and the same last name.
My brother and sister-in-law live in the area. Can they attend?
Anyone is welcome to pay the $10 gate fee and view the sponsor booths as well as the judging field. Separate events such as the Wine and Cheese party, the factory tours and the Milford Proving Grounds event are limited to NCRS members and their families.
Can I sign up for anything when I arrive?
Yes. You will be able to sign up for the Wine and Cheese party, the DeWitt tour and Pratt & Miller tour when you arrive at the show if you have changed your mind and now wish to attend.
When are you holding the tours to DeWitt radiator and Pratt & Miller?
The timing of these tours will depend upon how many registrants are interested. Final information will be available when you arrive.
What is included in the Milford Proving Grounds event?
This event is limited to Corvettes only. Each Corvette that registers for this event will receive two (2) tickets to breakfast as well as a memorable photo of the Corvette at the Proving Grounds. In addition that Corvette will be able to participate in all activities at the Proving Grounds.
Is there a limit to the number of Corvettes that may participate at the Milford Proving Grounds?
No!
I have two Corvettes that I will be bringing to the Regional. May I bring both to Milford?
Yes! Just be sure to register and pay for both.
What are we going to be doing at the Milford Proving Grounds?
We will assemble just inside the main gate and proceed to Black Lake where we will get a tour of a new building there and overview of the Proving Grounds. GM will put on a driving demo - with Corvettes of course.
After the demo, GM will give us a hand out for the rest of the driving tour. Our professional photographer will be "staged" in at least one, possibly two locations around the track in order to get the best possible photos. We will exit the Proving Grounds about 12:00 noon. Corvettes may then proceed home at will.
May we take cameras to the Proving Grounds?
Yes! In a rare opportunity General Motors will allow us to bring our own cameras into the Proving Grounds for photographs. So, be sure to bring plenty of batteries, film, memory cars, etc.
